Rajev Paul is COVID-free now. He has tested negative and will soon get discharged from the hospital. The actor tells us, “I am feeling much better. My haemoglobin level is bit low and thus doctors have kept me under observation. Otherwise, I am good. I have been on bed ever since I got admitted to the hospital. So as of now, I am not feeling any kind of body weakness.
It feels good to recuperate. Considering the current situation, it feels like I have got a second life.”
The Sasural Simar Ka 2 actor said the moment he got his reports saying that he has tested negative, he felt as if, “I had conquered Mt Everest.” While he was in the COVID ward, doctors and nurses were constantly checking upon him. “Now that I am in the non-CORONA ward, it feels like nobody is looking after me (laughs). The feeling (that I have tested negative) has still not sunk in yet. In the non-CORONA ward, I could finally feel the drizzle of rain and breath in fresh air. Honestly, until now, the word ‘negative’ sounded good to me only when I do negative roles on TV and people come and appreciate my work. Right now, I feel thrilled and relieved,” he adds. While he is happy to have recovered from the coronavirus, the actor also says that he feels guilty of being so privileged to have got the timely treatment he got at one of the best hospitals in Mumbai. “The world is facing the worst pandemic ever. There is shortage of beds, oxygen, medicines and even places to cremate. The entire country is feeling that crunch. I am thankful to have got the best treatment possible but at the same time, I also feel a bit guilty of being so privileged. Honestly, I am more disturbed than happy. I feel that all the corporate houses should open their CSR funds. Even our MPs and MLAs should forget politics and release their funds so that our country’s medical facilities be amped up which in turn will reduce the death rates of coronavirus-infected patients and speed up the process of recovery,” he says.
Rajev further adds that he was overwhelmed to have received so much love from people across the country. “I am blessed and humbled to have received so much love from people. It acted like sanjeevani booti for me,” he says. “My family, particularly my brother, his family and my sister, were the biggest support system for me. My niece and nephew used to video call me almost every hour asking about my health. I feel when you have so many amazing people in your life who love you so much, you want to fight back and come out of every problem in this world. I can’t wait to give them a big hug when I meet them next,” he says. The actor is also looking forward to resume shoot for Sasural Simar Ka 2 in Agra.
